K of C Business Meeting August 15, 2013
Knights of Columbus 12017
The Grand Knight, James Laraia, called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards.
The prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The roll was called.

In place of the Chaplin’s Message, the Gospel from The Feast of the Assumption was read.
A decade of the rosary was led by the Grand Knight.
The minutes were not read from the previous meeting.
Two new additions to our council were introduced, Chris Smith and Andy Conlon( a 4th degree transfer).
A membership blitz will be held after masses on the 14th and 15th of September.
A first degree will be held on the 28th of September.
James Laraia made a powerpoint presentation of the goals and the requirements to meet these goals for the coming year. They include the Star Council award.
The Knight of the month was all knights in our council.
The Family on the month was the Aaron Preusser Family.
Thank you notes were received from:
Teresa Tomsic, New Hanover Schools,
Seminarians- Edisson Urrego, Miles Casanova, Austin Faur, and John Kane
Membership reported one new member and one transfer.
A council audit was successfully preformed by the trustees.

Parish Breakfast September 8th after 9:30 Mass. Altar Servers get free Breakfast and award certificate.
Family Fun Knight(Texas Holdem) will be held on August 16th at 6 PM.
LAMB- Co-Chair- Pete Kotas
The next LAMB event is Columbus Day Dinner Show.
The 2013/2014 Budget was approved by voice vote.
Report on 4th Degree- Ron Daniels
A 4th degree is being held in Durham on October 26th.
Field Agent’s Report- Jeff Godshall
New Programs available including Long Term Care insurance.
Ken Dieppa made a presentation on Access for the Knights.
Greg Decker showed progress on the Knight’s web site.
The meeting closed with a prayer including intentions for Mike O’Keefe, Bob Phillip’s daughter, and all the sick and deceased Knights and their families.
