The Grand Knight, Ken Dieppa, called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards. The opening prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The Opening Ode was not sung due to the expected length of the meeting.

Two visitors were present. One possible transfer and one possible new member.

Chaplain Report:

  • Fr. Keane mentioned that this Sunday will be the last Sunday before Advent.
  • We should have Christ, the King in our Home and Life.

Approval of Minutes:

  • The minutes from October's meeting are on the council website; one correction on the Banners was mentioned by Larry Lambe. The motion for approval was made by ??? and seconded by Jeff Kranich.

Admission Committee Report:

  • DGK Kranich requested help to the call for membership.
  • He also talked about the shirt sales; i.e., selling the existing stock of shirts, and then working with Michael Angel on new shirt designs.
  • GK Dieppa mentioned the interface with the welcoming committee and the “free breakfast” coupon being given to new parishioners.

Balloting for Membership: 

Grand Knight Report:

  • The Grand Knight initiated a discussion of the budgeted capital expenditure planned for the parish. These items were:
    • A display case is in the gathering space to sell religious items.
  • Knight of the Month is Andy Expisito

Treasurer Report:

  • The Treasurer reported on the account balances. 

Bills and Communications:

  • None received. 

Financial Secretary Report:

  • 10 Badges are in and have Cards for those who have paid early.

Report of Service Program Committees:

  • Program Director Pahl had each service program director report on activities.
  • Church:
    • Director Peters talked about the next Fifth Sunday Rosary which will precede the 9:30 Mass on 11/29. A leader has not been selected as of now. The next three Fifth Sunday Rosary dates are 11/29, 1/31 and 5/29.
    • Christmas Caroling at the nursing homes is scheduled for 12/12 being led by Tim Niggel and Jeff Godshall. A Christmas Social will be in the Parish Hall this year. This may take the place of the December meeting.
    • A Men's Retreat is being planned for February 2016.
    • Tree lot truck unloading will be the Friday after Thanksgiving, 11/27, 8:00-9:00am
  • Council:          
    • Knights before Christmas December 6. Santa Clause Breakfast- George Schatt
    • Ron Probst will again host the Thanksgiving Day Dinner at the parish from 1-3 pm on Thanksgiving. There will be no cost for the dinner. Donations and volunteers are needed though. See the newsletter for more information.
    • Texas holdem in January?
  • Community:
    • Christmas Caroling at the nursing homes is scheduled for 12/12 1:30 pm $25/person being led by Tim Niggel and Jeff Godshall. A Christmas Social will be in the Parish Hall this year. This may take the place of the December meeting.
    • Health Affairs chairman Garcia briefly talked about helping older knights in need. He also remind everyone to get Flu Shots.
    • Step Up For Soldiers chairman Bolger thanked the council for the bus tickets. He then passed the hat again.
  • Culture of Life:
    • The First Born program donated 32 baby receiving blankets to the NHRMC NICU.
  • Family:
    • Thanksgiving is talked about again and Greg Covil Manager of Food Lion was recognized for generosity.
  • Youth:
    • Past Christmas Cards were found to sell.

LAMB Report:

  • No report

New Business:

  • Should we have a fine for cell phones rining?

Fourth Degree Report:

  • SK Decker said that accepting applications to the 11/21 exemplification in Raleigh is closed.  No 12017 knights will be exemplified. No date for the next exemplification has been announced.
  • The Fourth Degree assembly instituted a NCAA Football Playoff pool which consists of 100 booklets. The council was assigned 20 booklets. The pool covers the two semi-final games and the final paying $250, $250 and $500. Contact SK Decker for a booklet.
  • SK Decker will be meeting with the assembly’s RSVP recipient, Deacon Tim Ahn, when in Rome with the parish pilgrimage. He distributed a card for Sir Knights to sign as he will be presenting the RSVP check there.
