Business Meeting Minutes July 27, 2016 Knights of Columbus 12017
District Deputy Frank Weisgerber presided over the installation of the council’s new officers.
Grand Knight Jeff Godshall called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards.
The opening prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Approval of minutes:
The minutes from the June meeting are posted on the council website. Motion made to approve was passed.
Admissions committee report:
Application for membership from Francis Keenan was approved by the members after a motion was made and seconded
Grand Knight report:
This year the focus is taking care of our own and parish and community
Fundraising efforts to support fellow knights include a cornhole tournament, fall rummage sale, and poker nights. Dates to be determined.
Annual budget was proposed, members will have 30 days to review before being approved at the August business meeting. Emphasis on raising funds before committing to spend funds.
Membership goals to include increasing our Hispanic membership. Interest cards will be placed in the Knight’s communication center to pass out to prospective members before the Form 100.
Sometime in the fall we will be making an effort to register veterans for information purposes including membership.

Financial Secretary’s report:
If anyone needs a card or badge, let the financial secretary know as it takes some time for the order to arrive. Encouraged all to support the football pool and the Texas Hold-Em events.

New Business:
Proposed changing the business meeting from the 4th Wednesday to the 3rd Wednesday of the month. Proposal will be sent out on email for vote so all brother Knights will be included. Motion made and seconded.
Report of the Fourth Degree:
No report
LAMB report:
Tim Niggel – 8 of 10 events are completed. Donations slightly below projection, but will do some collecting after Masses.
District Deputy report:
Congratulations to all the newly installed officers. Thanks to the past officers for their service. Reminder that there is a 3rd degree this Saturday July 30 in Garner.
