Grand Knight report:

  • Planning for the September fundraiser at Ogden Tap Room is consuming a lot of the GK's and DGK's time. This Cornhole Tournament is being pitched far and wide for teams to compete. There will be nine boards for play. Food, drink, 50-50, Columbiettes silent auction, and other ways to enjoy the day.  All knights should attend.
  • We're waiting on the office-manager to assign a date for our Membership Drive. Most probably it will be on Labor Day weekend.
  • A First Degree will likely follow in October, assuming some candidates from the membership drive.
  • The council business meeting has officially been changed back to the third Wednesday of the month.  However, to accommodate our Chaplain's schedule, it will be help on the fourth Wednesday for September and October.
  • We will also have a new meeting location -- the old Montessori School room. There will be limited storage space in that room; however, our storage section in the shed will be improved from a storage and cleanliness viewpoint.
  • A Rummage Sale for November is being planned.
  • The Poker Night continues to be a good fundraiser. The next, in October, will have a masseuse to "keep the game relaxed".

Treasurer’s report:

  • The Treasurer gave his report.

Financial Secretary’s report:

  • The Financial Secretary was excused so no report.

Director’s reports:

Church (Decker):

  • The World Day of Prayer is September 11. Prayer cards were distributed for that day. We may offer a rosary on that day as it's a Sunday.
  • Thanks to Alex Hill for implementing the Fortnight for Freedom Novena at St. Mark's.
  • Beginning soon the rosary will be said before the 9:30 Sunday Mass throughout the year. It will start at 8:55.
  • The Memorial Mass is scheduled for October 2 at the 9:30 Mass. Expect to hear more leading up to the date.

  • Past CUL Director Decker reported on the Football Pool and extended the date for money turn-in up to September 11, the day before the first game.

Family:

  • Steve Peters will take over for Steve Shelton while the family fcuses on their daughter's illness.
  • The Knight of the Month is Tim Niggel for his stepping up for LAMB and making it successful and fun.
  • The Family of the Month is the Godshalls - for willingness to take GK position and Marilyn's support.

Youth (Abbe):

  • Introduced Andrew Lee, a visitor, that will be helping catechesis with youth at St. Mark.

LAMB (Niggel):

  • Ten sidewalk collections at various Harris-Teeter stores have been completed. Director Niggel commended Bolger, Kelin, G. Peters, Jeff K., Ken M. and M. Pahl for a combined 44 shifts!
  • Candy sales and other events are planned to achieve the target for the year.

Insurance Agent Report:

  • Marty Yakimovich talked about two things:
    • "The 24 Hour Knight" pamphlet which should be used for recruiting since it breaks down the typical request for 24 hours of one's time over a year.
    • The availability of a Disabililty Insurance product which won't be taxable income since it's paid for by the member and not as a full/partial company benefit.
