Business Meeting Minutes June 21, 2017 Knights of Columbus 12017
Grand Knight Jeff Godshall called the meeting to order. The opening prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Approval of minutes:
The minutes from the May meeting are posted on the council website. Motion made to approve, seconded and was passed.
Retention/Membership report: No report.
Grand Knight report:
Thanks to all those who participated in the procession last Sunday and to those who have helped with the LAMB drive.
The garage sale is being held off until September or October as to not interfere with LAMB and to have cooler weather.
Cornhole tournament planned for August or September.
Newly formed Marketing committee has begun work promoting our events.
Election of next year’s officers was held. New officers voted in by acclimation.
Motion was made and seconded to make a donation to Fr. Michael for vestments. Motion approved.
Treasurer’s report: gave report
Financial Secretary’s report: gave report. The new budget will be sent out for review and voted upon at the next monthly meeting.

Church (Decker) -

Encouraged all brothers to sign up for Friday adoration, it only takes an hour.

Passed out CDs on Introduction to the Bible to those who wanted one.

Monday night NFL pool booklets are available, please take several for sale.
Family (Peters, S) -
- Knights of the Month are Chris Smith and Kenny Merck for their work with the monthly poker. Families of the Month are Tim Niggel, Tom Woodard and Jeff Godshall and familes for making the Memorial Day picnic a success.
Culture of Life (Breit) -

Donations were made to Bitty and Beau’s coffee shop, Room at the Inn, and the St. Philomena fund
New Business:
Request made to make the Knights more visible to the church and community. One idea was to make sure we participate in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Poker committee requests more help in setting up and breaking down the monthly poker tournaments. They will need help cooking for the July event.
Report of the Fourth Degree:
Exemplification will be held November 18 in Jacksonville, NC at Infant of Prague parish.
District Deputy Report:
Reminder to file required reports (form 185 and IRS 990 report), to schedule the new officer’s installation and thanked Chris Smith for agreeing to captain the 2nd degree team.
Insurance Representative:
Encouraged all to strive to be a STAR council this year. Elements include membership, insurance and program.
LAMB:
Check your email for the Signup to help with the drive or go to our website which will send you to the signup site. There are still openings available.

Prayers were offered for fellow Knights, relatives and friends. In particular the following names were mentioned:
Michael Reyes' wife and Chris Smith's father are undergoing surgery.
