  • We have five candidates for the First degree in December. We are investigating using the chapel for the degree.
  • Christmas activities:
    • Caroling Bus - Tim Niggel has contracted for a 56 seat bus to carry the carolers. The bus will leave the church at 2pm on Saturday, December 2. Anyone riding shouuld arrive by 1pm to be assured a seat.
    • Party - We'll have a catered party in the council chambers (i.e., Evangelization Room B) following the Caroling Bus' return.
    • Knights Before Christmas Mass - See the Church program report later for inormation on this activity.
    • Parish Breakfast - See Council program report for information on this activity.
  • Alex Hill wants to change the Gregorian Chant practice night to Thursday evenings at 6pm.
  • Another Corn Hole tournament ** planned for when and why **

  • We received a thank you card from new knight and new seminarian John Lewis thanking the council for the RSVP check which allowed him to get his cassock and other needed items as he begins the journey to priesthood.

Treasurer’s report: Gave report.

Financial Secretary’s report: Gave report.

Trustees report: No report.

Director’s reports:

Culture of Life (Breit) -

  • He just received the Respect Life program materials from Supreme and is in the process of reviewing them for adoption in our council.
  • Greg decker reported that the St. Mark Respect Life ministry annually distributes Baby Bottles to raise awareness and funds for LifeLine Pregnancy Center. Under their leadership, Knights, Columbiettes, and others help in the after-Mass handing out of the baby bottles.  This takes all of about 5 minutes that you’d otherwise spend waiting in line to get out of the parking lot. Volunteers are needed and a sign-up sheet will be passed.

 Church (Decker) -

  • The Dynamic Catholic gift of the month is the CD “The Most Important Word in Your Marriage”. It’s not Love and it’s not Yes Dear.  Take the CD and find out.
  • Knight Before Christmas. The 9:30 Mass on December 3 is the annual Knight Before Christmas Mass.  A sign-up sheet will be passed for volunteers.  Many of the positions are already spoken for.
  • Vespers. Vespers precedes the council meeting on Wednesdays. Running from 5:30-6:30, it’s an easy way to leave the day behind and spend some time with Our Lord in song, prayer, silent reflection, and reconciliation. Unfortunately, only a handful (really) of parishioners bother to partake of this beautiful gift we have.
  • RSVP and Seminarian support. We will be supporting five seminarians with $500 stipends this year. John Lewis has received his early; the others are Kyle Mummert, Chris Koehn, David Miller, and Jario Maldonado. The remaining seminarians studying in the US will receive $25 Amazon gift cards. All will receive their gifts before their Christmas break.
  • Miguel Saldana reported on the weekly Friday Adoration. The council selected 1-2pm as the desired time for Knights to spend an hour in adoration each Friday. The more Knights the better. If 1-2 isn’t good, come anytime.

Family (Niggel for S Peters) -

  • Knight of the Month all the knights that came out to help the council at St. Stanislaus put on their annual Polish Festival.

Council -

  • Texas Hold'Em: ** didn't record anything **
  • Parish Breakfasts - George Schadt reported that the donations-only breakfast approach continues to work well.  The december breakfast will be on December 3 and will be the parish Christmas party with Santa making an appearance.  Volunteers to help with cooking/serving are needed.

LAMB (Niggel) -

  • The final "candy sale" of the year will be after Masses on the weekend of December 2-3.
