Grand Knight report:

  • The 2nd annual Cornhole Tournament on October 7 at Ogden Tap Room went well but was on "the hottest day of the year!". A check was given to the Coastal Therapeutic Riding Program.  Special thanks to Sean Duncan who brought his band to play, music that is.
  • Texas Hold 'Em ran well with the usual sized crowd. The sponsorship concept will continue with the sponsor for November being our council who will put on an Italian dinner.
  • While not a Knights program per se, the thanksgiving Dinner at the parish is run by Ron Probst and is primarily supported by individual knights, either financially or physically. Consider donating of your time and or talent. The dinner will be served from 2-3 on Thanksgiving. For more information contact ron Probst.
  • The weekend of December 2-3 will be our "Christmas weekend"; i.e., Christmas Caroling on the Bus, Christmas Party in the parish Hall, and Knights Before Christmas at the 9:30 Mass on Sunday.
  • The Christmas Tree unloading will be on the Saturday after Thanksgiving this year. Able bodies are needed. More info at the November meeting.
  • The Special Olympics needs volunteers on October 25 to help with the fall games at Legion Stadium. Sign up at 9:30 as the event starts at 10.
  • The Grand Knight gave the floor to Marty Yakimovich for a special request.
    • The St. Stanislaus Polish Festival is in it's 20th year. This year it's on Saturday, November 4 from 11-5.
    • It takes about 130 people to set up and run the festival and their parish is aging; thus, a call for help.
    • Help is needed Thursday 8:30-noon; Friday 8:30-noon; and throughout the day Saturday beginning at 7. There are various jobs available.
    • The membership was asked who could help and at least ten knights offered their help.
    • Also mentioned was that Dr. Tamisiea od St. mark donated his 3/4 acre Via Cruces to St. Stanislaus. The move will probably take place early next year and knights help will be needed then, too.

Bills and Communications: None to report.

Treasurer’s report: Gave report.

Financial Secretary’s report: Gave report.

Trustees report: No report.

Director’s reports:

Church (Decker) -

  • A Priests Appreciation Mass is scheduled for Sunday, 10/29, at 9:30.  Larry Lambe procured gift cards for the priests.
  • Miguel Saldana talked about the Adoration on Fridays where the council is assigned a particular time-slot: 2-3pm. Spend an hour with Our Lord.
  • Tim Niggel reminded us that the Men's Chant Choir will sing at the Priest's Appreciation Mass on 10/29. It's not too late to join the choir.

Family (Peters, S) -

  • Knight of the Month is Jon Scarborough for his effor to make the cornhole tournament a success.
  • Special mention to Larry Greer and cornhole partner, Mike, for their first-place finish!

Culture of Life (report given by Decker) -

  • LifeChain was lightly attended this year; however, about ten knights were there. Next year will have a bigger push.

Council -

  • Texas Hold'Em: Much was said in the Grand Knight's remarks. For the November games, players will be invited to bring a toy for the parish's outreach program. A toy will garner discounted chips.
  • George Schadt said the free breakfast, or "for donations", is going well. Volunteers are needed for the November 5 breakfast.

LAMB (Niggel) -

  • The "candy sale" after Masses on the weekend of October 7-8 exceeded expectations, so ... another is planned for December 3.

Old Business: None.

New Business: None.

Report of the Fourth Degree:

  • The Assembly will send a letter to the Supreme Council expressing the displeasure with Supreme's decision of new regalia. Greg Decker spoke about the changes to the uniform and the nearly unanamous disapproval of Supreme's decision.
