Grand Knight report:

  • The Yard Sale to support the St. Philomena fund may not happen until school is out. The church administrator is not in support of the business model. He suggested backing a parish-wide, Knights-operated yard sale.
  • There is a First Degree scheduled for 1/27.  Form 100s are in our mailslot for anyone having a candidate.  The Second Degree is being rescheduled.
  • The Knights will host two Lenten Suppers (2/23 and 3/9 from 5-7pm). The cost will be $8 per plate.
  • A SuperBowl party is being planned but the venue is up in the air due to poor TV reception (and lack of equipment).
  • The St. Patrick's Dinner Dance is a go and L. Greer reported that volunteers will be needed to set up from 7-9am that morning. Also needed will be food servers and cleanup crew from 11-midnight. It will be much easier since the food is being catered.  Youth Ministry will help with servers and cleanup. Also, the website has been promoting the event and accepting ticket purchases.
  • The Polar Plunge is set for 2/17 at Kure Beach. T. Niggel reports that we will have a room in the Marriott Courtyard for before/after refreshments. The Plunge occurs at 3pm.
  • Bowling and Bocce with 1074. Council 1074 is interested in cross-council social initiatives. Two brought forward were bowling and bocce in the Spring.
