Business Meeting Minutes July 18, 2018 Knights of Columbus 12017

Grand Knight Larry Greer called the meeting to order. The Warden reported all had membership card and rosary. The opening prayer was led by brother Deacon Watford and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

There were three visitors to our meeting. Two which were both knights in the process of transferring to our council: Rob Fisher and John Clyatt. The other visitor was Chris Mahoney, General Agent for the Knights of Columbus.

Chaplain report: chaplain absent, no report

Approval of minutes:

The minutes from the June meeting were posted on June 22 to the council website. Motion made to approve, seconded and was passed.

Retention/Membership report: no report

Grand Knight report:

Golf Tournament: Due to being rained out, it has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 28, with a morning start.  Wattch the website for current information. 

Rich Carbone is requesting some help staining the playground fence. 

We are looking to create a program to reach out to Knights' widows.

Treasurer’s report: gave report.

Financial Secretary’s report: gave report. Will be working with Treasurer to adopt procedures to speed up reimbursement of expenses.  

Director’s reports:

Family (Peters, S) - Knight of the Month was recognized as the couple knights who took more than 25% of the shifts this year.  

Life (Breit) - Life is running the annual football pool. See greg Decker for tickets. The first game is September 10. Booklets are $20 each and give the purchaser 20 chances to win $50; many purchasers have won more than once.  For every 10 books sold, you get one free. The proceeds help support our Life programs.

Community (Niggel) - Only three more weekends of LAMB collections. 

New Business:

Budget was presented.

Alex Hill asked if some brter could help drive a potential knight to rehab meetings as needed.

We have one new transfer - Bill Nelson - husband of Dawn Nelson, the parish office secretary. 

Report of the Fourth Degree: Exemplification 11/17 at BSSM possibly. 

District Deputy Report: absent, no report

Insurance Representative: Agent Yakimovich announced that he will no longer be the insuranse agent for our council.  Our brother, and insurance agent, Ray Repage spoke about membership. 

Good of the Order:

Prayers were offered for fellow Knights, relatives and friends. In particular the following names were mentioned:

Knights: Fran Keenan, Jeff Kranich, Daniel Agnelli.Family: Ron Daniel's wife, Shawn Duncan's wife, Steve Peter's wife, and Ken Dieppa's father. Also remember Miguel Saldana's mother's passing.

Closing prayer: was led by brother George Schadt.
