Business Meeting Minutes February 15. 2017 Knights of Columbus 12017

Grand Knight Jeff Godshall called the meeting to order. The opening prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The roll was not called as the Warden was absent.

Chaplain report: Chaplain absent, no report

Approval of minutes:

The minutes from the January meeting are posted on the council website. Motion made to approve, seconded and was passed.

Retention/Membership report: None

Grand Knight report:

A toast was made in the memory of recently deceased Sir Ed Basso. Ed’s family visitation will be held at Andrews Mortuary Market St. on Feb.22 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and from 6:00 – 8:00pm. The funeral will be at St. Mark on Feb. 23 at 11:00am. All are encouraged to attend either or both.

The Columbiettes are hosting a Potato Bar on Feb. 25 after 5:00pm mass

Boy Scout Troop 215 is hosting their 31st Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Feb. 28 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. Please support both of these and all parish events.

Still some outstanding dues, please remit as soon as possible

Director’s reports:

Culture of Life (Decker) - Suggested that we form a pool of Knights to serve as pallbearers during funerals

Family (Peters, S) - Knight of the Month is Ed Basso

New Business:

At the next executive board meeting on Mar. 9 a motion will be drafted to approve a family fund under the discretion of Fr. Pat to assist families in need. The council will help to set up funds. Any member is invited to attend.

International Food Festival is Apr. 22. We are requested to help in various capacities. See Steve Peters to volunteer. Andy Espisito is leading the logistics team, please volunteer to assist him.

Golf tournament: Apr. 29 beginning at 8:30am at Olde Point Country Club in Hampstead. Brochures are available for sign up and to solicit sponsors. Two man teams in a scramble format with two flights. $80/person.

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance Mar. 18 6:00pm – 11:00pm in Our Lady of Victory center. $30/person includes dinner, desserts, open bar and entertainment by The Imitations

LAMB Polar Plunge on Feb. 11 participants were Tim Niggel, Greg Decker and Larry Greer

Texas Hold’em on Feb. 11 had 34 players

Lenten Fish Fry Mar. 10 and 24

Volunteers are needed at all of these events.

Report of the Fourth Degree:

Participants are invited to walk in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Mar. 11

District Deputy Report:

2nd Degree Feb 25 at St. Mark 10:00am

3rd Degree Mar. 18 at St. Mary’s 11:00am

You must let the Grand Knight know if you are making your next degree
