The Grand Knight, James Laraia, called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards. The prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The Chaplain was excused.  

Now that the previous meeting's minutes are published on the council website shortly after a meeting, the reading of the minutes will be dispensed with; however, the Grand Knight will ask for corrections and/or changes at the meeting. For the April meeting minutes no corrections or changes were offered so the minutes were approved as recorded on the website.

 Greg Decker led the Knights in the Prayer for Vocations.

Grand Knight's Report:

Jim Laraia reported that our council received the Charity Award  and the Lamb Award at the State Convention. The LAMB Award was given to our Council because of our collecting 157% of our quota. We ranked 2nd in the state for money collected.
 Several resolutions that were passed at the Convention were put on the front table, to be viewed by any knight that was interested. A video will be shown at the next business meeting.
The LAMB Foundation Board of Directors held a meeting and Jim Laraia was elected Secretary of the Board.
Officer Installation will take place on July 27th after the 9:30 Mass. This is pending approval of the new pastor, Father Patrick A. Keane. 
Recognition Ceremony and Breakfast will be held in the Parish Hall after the Installation. All Knights, Columbiettes and family members are encouraged to attend.
There will be NO CHARGE for the Breakfast.

Reading of Bills and Communications:

There are currently 218 members in our council. We are billed for all members on our roster. If any Knight knows of a deceased or relocated Knight, please let Lee Wagner or Jim Laraia know.
An invitation to Military Night at Legion Stadium. Dinner at PM Game at 7:30  Price $24.00 adult and $16.00 for youth.
An e-mail from Step Up for Soldiers was received inviting us to a July 4th USO Party at the USO/Hanna Building at Orange & 2nd Street from 4 to 8 PM.
The 21 Day Flag Salute - Our Council's Day is Friday, June 27th. Arrive at City Hall by 7:45 AM. The flag will be raised at 8 AM. Bring family and friends.
Mary Hellman is looking for someone to play chess with a patient at Davis Nursing Home.
A letter from Brother Lou Celender requesting donations to Prostate Cancer. 
A letter from Supreme Fraternal Services included a CD from our Supreme Knight. We will play the CD at our July meeting.  

Program Reports
The various program directors were asked to provide their reports.

Membership:
Jeff reported that our membership quota had been reached and even exceeded for the current year. He said that he was stepping down as Membership Director and he wished to thank everyone who participated in our recruitment efforts. 

Culture of Life: 
Director Greg Decker said the NFL Football pool will be our fundraiser for Culture of Life activities again. We have plenty of time before the start of the NFL season to sell tickets. Anyone who sells 10 tickets will get one free. Tickets are $20 and are available from Greg Decker.

Knight of the Month is Mark Pahl.

Mark actively serves the Church as a Sacristan and serves as a Parish Council Member. Mark kept the Golf Extravaganza from being cancelled, kept all team members engaged and  served as the acting Committee Chairman. Mark consistently provides his home to be used for K of C functions. Mark was the Chairman of the Council Family Picnic. 

Special Programs

Catholic Radio: 
Greg Decker 
reported that work continues on the Ogden station. Greg noted that no advertising money is collected by the station. Relevant Radio programming is just part of the broadcasting provided by Wilmington Catholic  Radio. 

LAMB: 
 
Sign-up sheets at the front of the room for LAMB drive on June 28th.
The LAMB Drive on June 7th netted $1,000.
The LAMB Drive on June 14th netted $907.
LAMB revenues year to date are $8,500.

Election of Officers:

A Motion was made by Kenny Merck that James T. Laraia be nominated for Grand Knight. James T. Laraia II seconded the nomination. The council voted unanimously in the affirmative.

The following officers were nominated for the 2014/2015 year.

A Motion was made by Brother Geschickter and seconded by Kenny Merck that the above list of people be voted in for the 2014/2015 year. The Council voted unanimously in the affirmative.

Ron Daniels reported that the 4th degree meets next Tuesday at St. Mary. 

Good of the Order: 
Prayers for Bobby Phillips, Pete Kotas ,Ken Murphy,Roy Parker, and Carol Daniels. Also pray for all the sick and deceased Knights and their families.
The meeting closed with a prayer.
