K of C Business Meeting September 19, 2013

The Grand Knight, James Laraia, called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards.
The prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

A decade of the Rosary was led by the Grand Knight.

The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved as read.

The Grand Knight reported that the October Business meeting would be held on Wednesday October 16th, The November Business meeting would be held on Wednesday November 20th.
Alex Hill needs help unloading a truck on Friday September 20th at 2 PM. 
The Parish Breakfast will be held on Sunday October 6th after the 9:30 Mass.
The Life Chain will be held on Sunday October 6th at 2 PM.
The Columbus Day Dinner/Show  will be held on Saturday October 12th at 6 PM.
The Texas Holdem on Friday October 18th has been cancelled.
The Step-up for Solders Mud Run will be held on Saturday October 19th.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on Saturday October 19th.
Catholic Radio- Speaker on Apologetics on Friday October 25th.

The Coats for Kids State golf outing is scheduled for Oct 5th and 6th.

A membership blitz will be held on September 28th & 29th after all Masses.

Football pool tickets still have 3 to be sold.

Respect for Life Mass scheduled For January 19th 2014.

Volunteers needed for Monday with Monsignor on September 23rd.

Volunteers needed for the Step-up for Soldiers Mud Run on Saturday October 19th at 7:30 AM.

A 4th degree will be held on October 26th in Durham NC.

District Deputy J.P. Horvat reported on the efforts to form a council on the campus of UNCW.

The meeting closed with a prayer including intentions for Mike O’Keefe, Ron Probst, Ken Merck, Bill McFarland, Roy Parker, Mark Pahl’s father-in-law, Peter Kotas mother-in-law, all the sick and deceased Knights and their families.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 to allow Deacon Orlando Perez to address the Knights and Columbiettes. The subject of his talk was “Follow Me”.
