He also reviewed/explained the cash on hand, retained admin costs, short term reserves, long term reserves, and what will be spent in the next 30 days. He will review these each meeting.
· There was a motion for Budget approval, it was seconded, there was no discussion and it was approved by acclamation.
Chaplain Report: Father Cesar read the Supreme Chaplain’s Challenge to the Council
· July 2025 Supreme Chaplain's Monthly Challenge- “Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?” He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”(Gospel for July 13, Lk 10:36-37) In the parable of the good Samaritan, we again witness the Lord’s call to put our faith into action. Neither the priest nor the Levite stopped to render aid to alleviate the injured man’s suffering. The true act of love came from an unexpected source: a Samaritan, a person with whom a practicing Jew of those days would not ordinarily associate. Let us be good Samaritans when we encounter others in need, remembering that we are called to love and serve all people in need.
· Challenge by Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William E. Lori: This month, I challenge you to serve as a good Samaritan to others with whom you might not normally associate — whether it be people who are homeless, the poor, the homebound or others.
· Questions for Reflection: Who is your neighbor? Have you found yourself ignoring those in need when it is inconvenient for you to assist them? How can your response to the needy you encounter more closely reflect the example of the good Samaritan?
Membership Report: Membership Director Ray Repage (GK reviewed membership in Brother Repage’s absence)
· We currently have 210 members. We are presently at 143% of our goal for the year. As of this week we gained 5 new prospects and plan on an Anglo Exemplification on Monday July 28 at 6:30pm. I have asked recruiting team to follow up on other potential candidates.
Programs Reports: Program Director Larry Greer

· Faith Director Report: Faith Director John Clyatt
· COR (Heart) Program – COR meets the Wednesdays of each month at 7pm to 8:30pm in the John Henry Newman room. COR resumes beginning August 6 with the Apocryphal books. The group is experiencing really profound sharing and discovery in the scriptures. All are warmly invited to join us in August. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, contact

· Family Director Report: Family Director John Danchisko
· Faith in Films Series (Movie night)- 2024--2025 any questions/comments or if you want to volunteer reach out to: Joseph C. D’Alessandro, 910-352 7607
· Movie Nite - July 12, Vincent DePaul, Charity’s Saint. - 65 souls attended, Paul Townend and Sabina Newman provided the intro and prayer. In addition to our normal refreshments, The St. Vincent de Paul members brought plenty of finger food and snacks. The collection amounted to $164 and it was gifted to the St. Vincent de Paul group. The film rights were zero cost; the Popcorn and beverages were donated.
· Movie Nite - August 2: Looking at Heaven is a powerful movie produced in Mexico that tells the inspiring true story of St. José Sánchez del Rio, a 14- year-old martyr during the Cristero War (1926-1929). St. José Sánchez del Rio was beatified by Pope Benedict XVI on November 20, 2005. In January 2016, Pope Francis approved a miracle attributed to him and he was canonized on October 16, 2016. Saturday, August 2nd starting at 6:30pm in the Parish Hall! Admission is FREE and all are welcome. Refreshments will be provided. In addition, Spanish/ English subtitles/captioning will be available during the screening. I have reached out to a number of leaders in the Latino church. Fr. Cesar to announce the event after Sunday Mass, He will also provide an intro to the film, on the day. He will also promote it at Christ the King. Matteo Bautista will help to promote within the Latino round table. Ezequiel will promote through the Cursillio group. Additionally, I am going reach out to St. Mary’s to cross promote it with their Latino church there. I have asked Miguel to promote it with the Legion of Mary, The Adoration group, and any other way he can. We will be printing posters and postcard versions of the poster. Being that the film will be presented in Spanish with English subtitles, it will be an extra challenge to encourage the Anglo church to attend ... but I would like to see if this screening could become an opportunity for the Anglo and Latino groups to come together. Any ideas to cross promote are very, very, welcome. Joe D’Alessandro welcomes any suggestions of films to screen.

· The Monday Night Football Pool sponsored by our council’s Life program is beginning. It’s still sometime between now and the first game in September but that means you have all summer to sell books. For every ten books you buy or sell, you get one free. Do you know how many brothers won on the free book? You still have time to get in on the action. There is a winner every week of the season, for the two Championship games, and the Super Bowl. $20 buys twenty chances to win $50. Many have won multiple times with the same booklet. After buying the ticket, there is nothing to do, the check with the winnings just shows up in the mail! If you are interested in participating this year contact Greg Decker (
