Grand Knight report:

Thanks to all those who volunteered to help in case Hurricane Dorian struck our area.  We had been given permission to use the social hall and the kitchen for disaster relief is needed.  Several council knights participated in Council 1074’s golf tournament and commented on how well run and successful it was, we will use some of these ideas for our own tournament next year.

The executive board approved a budget item funding money to the Youth Ministry for sweatshirts for those attending NCYC.

There will be a 3rd degree on Oct. 26 at Our Infant of Prague in Jacksonville.  RSVP deadline is Oct. 19.

A donation to LAMB was given to the council from Atlanta Carrera in memory of her husband, Reynold, who recently passed away.

A thank you note was received from Alex Lopez’s niece thanking us for all we did for Alex. Alex also passed away within the past month.

The parish breakfasts were discussed in that we are losing money each month since we only ask for donations.  The executive board decided that we will either stop the breakfasts or begin charging a fee again.  Council members were asked to make this clear to all the parishioners who enjoy the breakfast.

Ronnie Girardi sent the GK a letter asking his brother knights to forgive him for his past mistakes and to please visit or write him.

Faith (Saldana, M) - Miguel encouraged all knights to take advantage of the new First Saturday Mass instituted this month. He also hopes to bring back the Marian Icon for the persecuted Christians next year.

New Business:

Columbus Pasta Dinner is being headed by Bud Tascone. The dinner is Oct.19 after the 5:00pm Mass.  We will be using this as a membership opportunity.  There is no charge, but donations will go to our several charities.  Bud needs help with set-up, serving and clean-up.

Report of the Fourth Degree: We are being asked to host a Fourth degree Exemplification on January 18.  All 3rd degree knights are encouraged to receive their 4th degree.  We will need a lot of help for this event which wil showcase our council.

District Deputy Report: DD Will Vertoli gave us our allotment of 500 State raffle tickets.

Field Agent report: Marty Yakimovich reminded all of online membership and to encourage those who register online to join a council and take their 1st degree.  He also asked the council to provide manpower for the Polish Festival on Nov. 2.  Setup on Nov. 1 is especially in need of assistance.

After the meeting closed, Sabina Newman, Sharing Tree Ministry, made a presentation and request for help from our knights.  On the fourth weekend of each month, the Sharing Tree collects household essentials for those who are in need.  Sabina needs manpower to collect, sort and distribute these items.  An electronic copy of her program is posted on our website.
