Business Meeting Minutes February 20, 2019 Knights of Columbus 12017

Deputy Grand Knight Chris Smith called the meeting to order. The Warden reported all had membership card and rosary. The opening prayer was led by brother George Schadt and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The memorial candle was lit for brother sir knight Jim Todd. Visitors were Dennis Ihnt, Christian Decker, Mickey Jones and Bryan Fegley.

Chaplain report: Chaplain excused, no report

Approval of minutes: The minutes from the January meeting were posted on the council website. Motion made to approve, seconded and was passed.

Retention/Membership report: no report

Grand Knight report:

• David Waldinger and Byron Rosbrugh congratulated on receiving their First Degree.
• There will be two 3^rd degree ceremonies coming up: one in Raleigh and another on Feb 23 in New Bern, check Diocese website for more info.

Financial Secretary report: 220 Members. Semi-annual audit completed and submitted on time. 

Treasurer’s report: provided report on finances.

Trustees' report: no report.

Program Directors reports:

- Faith - Miguel Saldana:

• Miguel Saldana urged Knights to participate in attending adoration. Critical Need 10-3 on Fridays.  
• Medjugorje Messages Conference here March 1 & 2. Knights needed to help with parking. 
• March 29 is Founder's Day. We will have Mass at 8:30 followed by Adoration. 

- Community - Tim Niggel:

• The Polar Plunge is Feb 23 at 3pm at Kure Beach. More details to follow. 
• Recipients of our LAMB fundraising will be attending and presenting at the March meeting.
• Next Texas Hold'Em is March 9.

- Family - Steve Peters: absent, no report

- Life - Michael Breit:

• A pro-life debate will be on Feb 21 at 7pm at UNCW.
• Supreme sent an email to all knights about the Novena to pray during the Vatican abuse synod. 

New Business:  Alex Hill's Gregorian Chant Schola practice is Feb 27 from 7 to 8:30pm in rooms 5/6. Next performance is Sunday, March 17, at 9:30 or 11:30 Mass. 

Field Agent Report: No Report

Report of the Fourth Degree: No Report

District Deputy Report: William Vertoli: Would like to wrap up the State Raffle and have all tickets in by March meeting.

Good of the Order: 

Prayers were offered for fellow Knights, relatives and friends.
