Business Meeting Minutes January 16, 2019 Knights of Columbus 12017

Deputy Grand Knight Chris Smith called the meeting to order. The Warden reported all had membership card and rosary. The opening prayer was led by brother George Schadt and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Chaplain report: Chaplain excused, no report

Approval of minutes: The minutes from the December meeting were posted on the council website. Motion made to approve, seconded and was passed.

Retention/Membership report: no report

Grand Knight report:

  • February 23 2nd degree, New Bern, RSVP by Feb. 15, Polar Plunge coming up Feb 23rd
  • There will be two 3rd degree ceremonies coming up: one in Raleigh and another on Feb 23 in New Bern, check Diocese website for more info.

Financial Secretary report: 220 Members, 2 transfers, 2 withdrawals Need to find out how to contact Lost Members. Get all raffle tickets in ASAP.

Treasurer’s report: provided report on finances.

Faith and Good of the order:

  • Miguel Saldana urged Knights to participate in attending adoration. Critical Need 10-3 on Fridays.  
  • Medjugorje coming to our parish March 1, 2 Father Leon starts ceremonies on Friday at 6:30 pm.
  • Statue of Mary is available for people to take home and pray with.

New Business:  George is cooking again! February 3 Parish Breakfast let's help him with set up, prep and cleanup before watching the Patriots win the Super Bowl!

Field Agent Report: No Report

Family:

  • Steve recognized Tim Niggel as the Knight of the month!
  • Also please help out any way you can for the International Food Festival which is a huge event and helps raise a lot of money for a variety of needs.

Report of the Fourth Degree: No Report

District Deputy Report: William Vertoli: Would like to wrap up the State Raffle and have all tickets in by early March, we get money back from Supreme to help with Special Olympics.

Community:

  • Tim Niggel mentioned activities we should perform under Community such as: Free Throw Contest and Essay Contest.
  • LAMB report submitted  to state with a $9500 Contribution for various causes.
  • Ken Merck reported that Texas Hold'Em turnout was poor because of lack of TVs to watch  the football playoffs. We broke even.  He thanked Tim and Mrs. Niggel for attending. Next Poker Tourney is March 9th please come out and support this great event.
