The Grand Knight, James Laraia, called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards. The prayer was said and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The minutes from January's meeting were on the council's website...no changes so approved.

Report of Admission Committee:

  • GK says to contact Larry Greer for admittance to 1st Degree

GK Report:

  • GK presents award (Lapel Pin) to Ron Probst - Programs Director and Jeff Kranich - Membership Director for star council achievement.
  • GK informs Council about receiving top membership award and passes around plaque.
  • GK requests food tent coordinator for American food tent.
  • GK reviews e-mail from Mark Pahl requesting $500 - $250 to help with large tent costs and $250 to help with food costs.
  • Motion by Ron Daniels: Provide 250 for tent rental and 250 for food cost. 2nd Greg Decker. Motion approved.
  • GK educates council on parish gift criteria.
  • Brother Michael Breit comments on parish gift criteria, asking to align ideas and criteria with Knights values.

Spiritual Directors Report:

  • Deacon Orlando ask for Landscaping and painting at sister church.

Treasurer's Report & FS Reports:

  • All deposits and disbursements accounted for and checking account balanced.

Bills and Communications:

  • One Bill: 2nd Half Per Capita Invoice - $553.25
  • Two E-mails: District Deputy – Degree Dates, Candace Miller/Bread of Life – Driver needed

Financial Secretary's Report:

  • Lee Wagner makes note to all members to pay their dues.
  • State Council vacation raffle tickets for sale. Asked each night to take 5. No obligation to buy but asking to sell those tickets, they are 5 each.

Report of Service Program Committees:

  • Culture of Life: Greg Decker asks all knights to come out to stations. Also brings up 3 letters: Thank you from seminarians, thank you from Sister Isaac and thank you from Ignited by Truth.
  • Church: Steve Peters announces Knights and Columbiettes hosting Stations on Feb 27th.
  • Community: Jeff Kranich announces golf tournament and handouts during 2nd and 3rd weekend of March. Asks for sponsorships.
  • Council: Steve Shelton brings up St. Patrick's event. Asks for help handing out fliers and selling tickets. Needs help staffing event.
  • Youth: Ron Probst needs help serving lunch, arrival 12:00pm and departure by 1:30pm.
  • Church: GK informed members that the Parish breakfast in March will be an Irish breakfast sponsored by AOH.
  • Church: Parish Festival information provided by Jeff Kranich.

LAMB Report:

  • Polar plunge Saturday, will be held at Kure Beach. Hospitality room at Carolina Beach.
  • GK reviewed LAMB Spring Event, Senator Michael Lee will be in attendance, big event with fun activities along with car show. In desperate need of volunteers, please contact Ron Probst or GK.

New Business:

  • GK reviews election of delegates for state convention.
  • Motion by Steve Shelton: Elect the GK and DGK for delegates and Ron Probst as alternate. 2nd by Alex Lopez. Motion approved.
  • GK reviews Bishop Fund & Culture of Life donations at State Convention.
  • Motion by Greg Decker: Donate $50 to the Bishop Fund and $50 to Culture of Life. 2nd by Michael Breit. Motion approved.

Fourth Degree:

  • Ron Daniels report of the fourth degree to be held February 28th.

District Deputy's Report:

  • DD – Frank Weisgerber reports that there is a 4th degree in April, along with a 3rd degree on March 15th in Newton grove to be held in Spanish.
  • Fish fry in Hampstead Friday and another one at St Stan's next Friday.
  • Congratulates council on receipt of awards.

Good of the Order:

  • Virginia Fowler added to prayer list (John Bolger's sister-in-law)
  • John Bolger presents letter from VA...Thank-you from VA Hospital.
  • Good of order video presented by Joe Hellmann.
