K of C Business Meeting October 16, 2014 Knights of Columbus 12017

The Grand Knight, James Laraia, called the meeting to order and received a report from the Warden that all present were in possession of their membership cards. The prayer was said, led by Deacon Orlando, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Due to the trouble the Recorder had with the Website the September meeting's minutes were read by the Recorder and the Grand Knight asked for corrections. The minutes were approved as read.

 Greg Decker led the Knights in the Prayer for Vocations.

The Grand Knight introduced Deacon Orlando as our Spiritual Director. The Deacon said he would have more to tell us at the next meeting. 

Grand Knight's Report:

Jim Laraia reported that for the 3rd straight year our Columbus Day Dinner Show was sold out. There were 215 tickets sold. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this event successful. The following Team leaders are as follows:

Program Reports

The various program directors were asked to provide their reports.

Membership:
James Laraia II reported that the next membership drive is scheduled for November 1st & 2nd

Culture of Life: 
 
Prayer Vigils

The Knights are encouraged to attend the prayer vigils whenever possible.

Catholic Radio: 
Greg Decker 
reported that work continues on the Ogden station. Greg noted that no advertising money is collected by the station. Relevant Radio programming is just part of the broadcasting provided by Wilmington Catholic  Radio. 

LAMB: 
 Peter Kotas said that Tootsie Rolls would be sold for $10 a pack.
 
4th Degree:
Ron Daniels said the cutoff date for applications is 10/21. The 4th Degree is on 11/15. 

Good of the Order:

Prayers for the sick and deceased knights and their families and John Bolger's sister and sister-in-law,Carole Daniels, Nancy Peters, and Debby Kotas,
 

Jim Laraia invited the members to enjoy the refreshments provided and to talk to the various team leaders in the back of the room. Knights need to step up and volunteer for the various activities that are coming up.
